Step after Petition Approval or Notice of Action 2 (NOA2)

What to do Next after your Petition is Approved (NOA2)

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS) will send an email to the Petitioner of the decision they made and it is either Approval, RFE or Denied Notice. Same with NOA1, after 3 to 5 working days a hard copy will be send to the Petitioner mailing address

Having a NOA2 at hand is very relieving.

After your petition is approved the documents will be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) at New Hampshire.

Fifteen (15) days  from your NOA2, start to call the  NVC regarding the status of your case. In CR1/IR1 or spousal visa they usually issued the CASE NUMBER, 25 to 30 days after your documents arrived at their office.

The NVC will send the petitioner's an email; a copy of case number with other details. In some point, the Petitioner/Beneficiary  needs to call and inquire the NVC  once in a while.

  1. The consideration of the petition may be delayed indefinitely. This requires an excerpt to wait for a final answer after the documents are sent.
